Jennings feels Packers more intense

Green Bay wide receiver Greg Jennings thinks the Packers had the intensity edge in their win over the Jets.

“Number one, their offense thrives off of their running game,” Jennings said. “For the defense to go out there and do what they did, against a team that can really pound you and wear you down, we beat them at their own game. We talked about exceeding the Jets intensity and if you shut down a running game like that, you’re definitely exceeding intensity.”

Steve Weatherford on fake punt

Steve Weatherford on his fake punt that failed – “It would have been a good decision if it was fourth-and-nine. I made the decision to try and make the play for the team. It’s a situation where I don’t have the green light, but if I do it, [Westhoff] isn’t going to be mad. It has worked out in the past. It worked in Oakland. It worked out in Miami, but today it didn’t. I thought it would be a good opportunity for us to get a big swing in the game. I came up a little short.”

Taylor says Florio story untrue

“Nearly three years after nearly parlaying a stint on Dancing with the Stars into a movie deal but opting instead to keep playing football, Jets defensive end Jason Taylor currently plans to end his NFL career after the 2010 season, per a league source,” wrote Mike Florio.

“I don’t know where Florio gets this stuff,” Taylor said. “I don’t plan to retire.

Goodell on CBA talks

The CBA talks aren’t going well.

“There are discussions going on,” NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in London . “As I keep saying, it’s not just about discussions. It’s about progress, and I would like to see more progress. I think everyone has an interest in getting it done sooner rather than later.

“We’ve been very clear about the fact that the longer it goes, the harder it gets. We’ve also made the point that revenue will start decreasing. It probably already has in certain categories. As that revenue decreases, it’s less money to be able to negotiate over. So it will be harder to get a labor agreement at some point. Plus, and I think you’re seeing it already with the decertification, they’ll pursue litigation strategies. I’ve often said this is going to be about collective bargaining.”

Sanchez – “It’s not easy.”

Last year, the Jets’ MARK SANCHEZ joined Baltimore’s JOE FLACCO as the second rookie quarterback in NFL history to lead his team to an AFC Championship game. This year, Sanchez has guided the Jets to a 5-1 record.

Sanchez now knows that consistency is key for success in the NFL.

“Last year, I got a perception of this league like, ‘Yeah, this is easy,’” says Sanchez. “And it’s not. I think maybe I started to buy into all the praise a little bit last year. You start feeling good about yourself and then you go out and get hammered.”

“This evening, I was informed by Charles Dolan that Cablevision and News Corporation have resolved their dispute,” Woody Johnson said in a statement. “I ppreciate that both sides were able to work out their differences in advance of
our game and that all Jets fans are able to watch when we host the Green Bay Packers Sunday at 1 p.m.”
