The Jets are raising ticket prices.
The Giants aren’t.
The Jets are making their assistant coaches take paycuts, if there is a lockout.
The Giants aren’t.
The Jets are making their non-football workers take furloughs, if there is a lockout.
The Giants aren’t.
The Jets are looking like the bad cop.
The Giants are looking like the good cop.
It’s hard to truly access what is going on here without seeing the books of each team.
Both teams have their reasons for handing each situation in their own fashion.
But whether it’s fair or not, the contrast doesn’t make the Jets look great.
The Jets have released defensive linemen Jason Taylor, Kris Jenkins and Vernon Gholston. The announcement was made by Daily News reporter Manish “M.A.” Mehta.
They also released offensive lineman Damien Woody. The announcement was made by Woody.
It is possible that Jenkins and Woody, when healthy, could be brought back at a much lower price down the road.

Indianapolis – One of the most impressive kids at the combine is UCLA safety Rahim Moore.
And while safety might not be one of the Jets’ biggest needs, if he is there at 30, he might be too good to pass up.
He’s a big-time playmaker who excels against the pass and run.
Moore covers so well, that some teams are talking to him about playing corner.
He’s also a terrific kid with a great work ethic.
Moore seems like a can’t miss prospect.
Indianapolis – LSU’s CB Patrick Peterson is a special prospect.
He’s a 219-pound corner, who run in the 4.3 area.
You might think 219 pounds is a little heavy for a corner.
However, he has so little body fat at that size, he’s hesitant to lose weight.
And in era where press coverage is so important, thanks to the five-yard chuck rule, the massive cornerback’s ability to manhandle receivers at the line, is a skillset very much in demand.
The Pompano Beach-native will likely be a Top Seven pick.
Indianapolis – Players at the combine are constantly asked by reporters to compare their game to a current NFL player.
It’s a tough question.
Everyone is really different in their own way.
UNC defensive end Robert Quinn had an interesting answer to this question.
“I don’t want to be the second somebody else, I want to be the first Robert Quinn,” Quinn said.
He is expected to go in the top five of the first round.
Some think that Union head DeMaurice Smith, and outside council Jeffrey Kessler, are a handful to deal with in CBA negotiations.
One man doesn’t agree.
“I am convinced that the NFLPA position is reasonable and if the teams decide to do a fair deal it will happen – a lockout is not needed,” Rosenhaus tweeted.
Coming from such a credible source, perhaps the NFL needs to change their ways.

Indianapolis – The Jets are going to make their employees take furloughs once the NFL lockout starts on March 4.
They’ve have taken some heat because other teams aren’t doing that.
But from what I’m hearing, a lot of teams are going to make their employees take paycuts.
Let’s be honest, furloughs, paycuts, what is the difference?
The Jets are making workers take one week off per month.
For all we know, the paycuts other teams are instituting, will turn out to be similar money to furloughs in the long-run.
