The Jets released linebacker Eddie Jones on Tuesday. Here is his story –
Eddie Jones (6-3/260/Texas/Kilgore, TX), rejoined the Jets as a member of the practice squad (9/28/11) before being signed to the active roster (10/8/11), making his NFL debut at NE (10/9/11). In 50 games at the University of Texas, he started eight, and totaled 111 tackles and 13 sacks during his career. Jones was named All Big-12 honorable mention as a senior in 2010 after he notched 52 tackles, six sacks, 10 tackles for loss and one forced fumble. An All-American at Kilgore High School, he participated in the 2006 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
