Marty Schottenheimer has emerged as a candidate to be the Tampa Bay coach.
If he gets the job, surely he would want Brian Schottenheimer to be his offensive coordinator.
But Tampa doesn’t spend money so freely, so the Jets would still have to pay a lot of B-Schotty’s enormous contract (two years, $3.2 million).
This whole thing is such a charade. The Jets clearly want a team to take B-Schotty off their hands, but don’t want to have to eat that contract.
Schotty’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, Mike Tannenbaum and Adam Schefter need to work this out.
