Brandt on Mangold’s 2011 money

NFP’s Andrew Brandt broke down Nick Mangold’s contract, and here is what he had to say about the money the center will get in Year Two of the deal –
“Mangold has a 2011 bonus [is] worth $9.725 million,” wrote Brandt. “The timing of the payment is similar to the way the first-round deals have been structured this year, with the exercise period being the first day of the League Year. Along with a salary of $2.26 next year, his 2011 earnings are close to $12 million. Thus, Mangold will have earned $19.32 million – assuming a 2011 season – in the next 16 months.”
