Bringing back Wayne Hunter the right move #nyj

According Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger, Wayne Hunter’s $2.45 million base salary became guaranteed on Wednesday.

The way his contract was written, if the Jets had released him by today, they wouldn’t have owed Hunter the money, according to the Vrentas’ report.

The Jets made the right move here.

Granted Hunter was very inconsistent in 2011, his first year starting at right tackle for the Jets, but he has a lot of talent.

He’s a 6-5, 320-pound block of granite with good athletic ability and feet for his size. It’s a good idea to see what Tony Sparano can do to fix what was wrong last year.

And honestly, other members of the Jets’ offensive line were inconsistent in 2011, so it’s unfair to just pick on Hunter.
