Canadian OT moving up

Canadian offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff, from McGill University in Montreal, is gathering steam as a prospect.

“The Tardiff kid is intriguing,” said Mike Mayock of the NFL Network. “I saw him at the East-West game.  He weighed 323 or 321.  He lost 23 pounds for his pro day.  His pro day numbers were outstanding.  They collectively would put him in the top four or five tackles in the entire draft as far as measurables.

“Obviously he’s a raw with the Ph.D. background, lack of practice time, etcetera.  He’s gone from a priority free agent to a sixth or seventh round guy to be somebody I think is going to be a fourth or fifth round pick with a physical skill set to become a starter in the NFL.  He’s raw.  He’s going to have to redshirt a year.  But I do think somebody is going to invest a fourth or fifth round pick to develop him.”
