Yesterday, the New England Patriots signed former Jets cornerback Marquice Cole.
For the cornerback-starved Pats, this is a sound move.
Cole is a Bill Belichick kind of defensive back. The Northwestern-product is very smart, and will be able to pick up numerous positions.
Cole has a nice combination of speed (sub-4.4) and toughness.
He probably should played more with the Jets, but was stuck behind Kyle Wilson for political reasons. Â Wilson was a first round pick and Cole was a free agent.
