The Jets signed linebacker A.J. Edds and released cornerback Ellis Lankster.
The addition of Edds makes sense.
First of all, he had a terrific summer.
Secondly, Nick Bellore is banged-up with a leg injury. His status for Sunday is unclear. Edds is better inside linebacker insurance behind David Harris and DeMario Davis than Jeremiah George, who is a work-in-progress.
Edds is a very instinctive linebacker with good range.
