Good point by Dennis Thurman on Buffalo having Jets D playbook Dan Leberfeld

Florham Park – Embattled former Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, took the team’s defensive playbook, and shuffled off to Buffalo, following the 2012 season.

And the Bills’ defense looked pretty good in the first two games.

So are the Jets concerned that their successful defensive scheme is being used by a division rival?

“It’s not the system, it’s the players,” Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman said.

After saying this, Thurman told a story about how Jeff Fisher, an assistant under defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, with the 1985 Chicago Bears (Super Bowl Champions), left to take over the Los Angeles Rams’ defense, bringing Buddy’s playbook with him, and got fired after one year.
