Griffin doesn’t think he did anything wrong

Tennessee safety Michael Griffin was fined $21,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill, in the Titans 38-13 win over New York on Sunday.

The illegal hit occurred in the first quarter on an interception by Titans cornerback Alterraun Verner.

Griffin feels he’s innocent, and is appealing the fine.

“I go low you know somebody makes the catch over the middle,’’ Griffin said. ‘‘The tight end makes the catch over the middle I go low. Then this week I go high, even though Vern got the interception. This is the consequence you get for going high.

‘‘You watch the play, slow-mo. I didn’t hit him. I hit him in his left shoulder.’’
