Holmes advice to Geno Smith on facing LeBeau Dan Leberfeld
Florham Park – Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes knows a lot about Dick LeBeau’s Pittsburgh defense.
Holmes spent the first four years of his career with the Steelers (2006-2009), and faced LeBeau’s defense every day in practice.
So Holmes has been helpful to Geno Smith this week with his preparation for Sunday’s Jets-Steelers game.
“One thing, I can talk to Geno (Smith) about is the play of that defense and the style and how aggressive those guys are, what they look to do, down and distance and how they play particular spots on the field,” Holmes said. “Field position is what they thrive off of and giving the ball back to their offense in manageable positions. Our job is to nickel and dime those guys all the way down the field until we get an opening.”
