I was wrong about the Jets’ quarterback competition.
Greg McElroy is not in the mix.
I questioned other reporters, a few weeks ago, who said it was down to Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith.
I thought they were jumping to conclusions. They weren’t. They were right.
The competition is between Sanchez and Smith.
And I want to apologize to Kimberley Martin, Bob Glauber, Manish Mehta, Ben Shpigel and anybody else who I criticized over reporting it was down to two.
I was wrong to do that.
