Interesting point from Rex on Garrard’s big problem Dan Leberfeld

QB David Garrard recently announced his retirement to Adam Schein.

Rex Ryan was asked about that sudden retirement today, and made an intriguing point.

It wasn’t that Garrard looked bad in practice. His skills actually still looked good.

However, his bad knee didn’t respond well after some of the spring practices.

‘Sometimes before the skill level leaves you, it’s the fact it’s harder to recover,” Ryan said. “When you get older, obviously, it’s harder to recover and I think that’s what it was compared to everything else.”
