It doesn’t make a lot of sense

Ed Reed is one of the greatest safeties in NFL history.

He will be in the Hall-of-Fame one day.

But he (and quite a few other players) have me confused.

He said at Super Bowl Media Day – “I feel effects from [football]. Some days, I wake up and I’m like, ‘Where did my memory go?’ But I signed up for it.”

But with that being said, he wants to play next year.

if he has memory issues from football, why not walk away after this season?

He’s played 12 years.

Why risk making your mental issues worse?

More players need to take a page from Jim Brown and Barry Sanders – walk away too early – not too late.
