J.B. Shugarts, we hardly knew ye

Newsday’s Kimberley Martin reports that Jets have made a change on their practice squad.

“DL Junior Aumavae is added to the practice squad. In turn, OT J.B. Shugarts has been released,” tweeted Martin.

The addition Aumavae is likely related to the back ailment to nose tackle Kenrick Ellis, a Rex Ryan favorite.

Ellis was still not practicing on Monday. He was on the stationary bike on the side of the practice field.

So the Jets need another nose tackle for practice, and perhaps Aumavae could be elevated to the regular roster at some point, if Ellis continues to be sidelined in the coming weeks.
