Jason Smith signing makes sense

The Jets signed offensive tackle Jason Smith. The announcement was made by Brian Costello of the New York Post.

“Released by the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, offensive tackle Jason Smith will live to disenchant another NFL coaching staff,” wrote Chris Wesseling on the league’s website.

Actually, Smith didn’t disenchant the Jets’ coaching staff last year.
Smith might not have lived up to hype he received coming out of Baylor (second pick overall to St. Louis in the 2009 draft), but he’s a solid backup swing tackle.
And that is why the Jets are bringing him in.
