Jets came to Mangold about extension

Nick Mangold signed a seven-year, $55 million contract extension on Tuesday.
And what made the deal extra special for him was that he didn’t expect it to happen this year.
He was thinking he would have to wait until 2011 for a new deal.
According to Mangold – “About two weeks Woody (Johnson) and Mike (Tannenbaum) sat me down and said, ‘Hey, we’d like to get something done with you and we hope that we can get it done.'”
And today that “hope” become a reality.
