The Jets’ new offensive coordinator needs to be a no-brainer.
It can’t a position coach getting his first chance at calling plays.
It can’t be somebody with a so-so resume calling plays.
It can’t be a guy who gets the job because he’s friends with Rex.
It needs to be a slam-dunk, somebody with a rock-solid proven background as play-caller, somebody who gets high marks as an offensive strategist.
Offensive play-caller is a major chess match. It’s not for everyone. It’s not as easy as it seems.
There can be no gray area here.
The Jets need to hire a rock star offensive coordinator.
