Rex Ryan was talking about his dominating defense today in a press conference.
And they has been an excellent unit since he arrived.
There is no question about it.
But they were far from dominating in the opener against Dallas.
I asked him why the Jets front seven couldn’t do more damage, against a Dallas offensive line, that featured THREE players making their NFL debut, two rookies, and a practice squad guy.
He tap danced around the question.
My only point is simple – if you are a dominating defense, you take advantage of an offensive line with three new starters all in their first NFL game.
The Jets didn’t.
Their defense underachieved in this game.
Expect them to come out breathing fire against Jacksonville.
