Jets interest in Landry makes a lot of sense

The Jets interest in free agent safety Dawan Landry makes a lot of sense.

He played for Rex Ryan in Baltimore, so he would come in already comfortable with the Jets’ defensive system. Dawan Landry was on the Ravens from 2006-2010, before leaving for Jacksonville as a free agent. He played for the Jaguars the last two seasons.

Getting a player who is already well-versed on your playbook is a real positive in free agency; it cuts down on the learning curve.

Dawan Landry to the Jets makes a lot of sense.

And if he does sign, this might be the first time in NFL history where a player was signed to replace his brother, who left as a free agent.

Dawan is LaRon’s older brother.
