The Jets have replaced Wayne Hunter at right tackle with Austin Howard.
I’ve watched every practice all summer, and don’t see this as an upgrade.
Howard’s talent is tantamount to Hunter.
You saw Howard give up a sack to undrafted free agent Adewale Ojobo against the Football Giants.
Yesterday, he got beat for a sack by Quinton Coples with an inside move.
Howard is a very hard worker with a great motor, but he’s been inconsistent throughout the summer.
There is little anecdotal evidence that he’s better than Hunter.
Remember, another right tackle could be on the way during Mike Tannenbaum’s “mini-draft” after the final cutdown.
