If the Jets do move on from offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer (and if I were him, I’d want to move on also), they need to hire somebody who has been an OC before.
The can’t roll the dice on a position coach from a hot team, and gamble that he can do the OC job.
Jacksonville’s Dirk Koetter would be perfect.
He worked for a run-first team powered by MJD, complimented by a ball-control passing attack.
Don’t judge him by Jacksonville’s offense this year – they had a rookie quarterback most of the season, and not a lot of talent at wide receiver.
This kind of guy would be perfect for the Jets.
They can’t go with a novice offensive coordinator learning on the job.
That would be a huge mistake.
