#15 Saalim Hakim, #32 Josh Bush, #40 Tommy Bohanon, #97 Calvin Pace and #98 Quinton Coples.
First-year WR Saalim Hakim made his NFL debut today when he appeared on the team’s kickoff coverage unit on the game’s opening play. He made his debut on offense when he ran a reverse for eight yards in the first quarter.
RB Chris Ivory picked up 35 yards on a second-quarter run to set up a Jets field goal. The 35-yard run was his sixth run of 25 or more yards on the season. He finished the day with 11 carries for 66 yards (6.0 avg.).
TE Jeff Cumberland totaled three catches for a team-high 50 yards and one touchdown. The score was his fourth of the season and set a new single-season career-high. He delivered a season-long 35-yard reception on the Jets’ first touchdown drive and capped off the team’s second touchdown drive with an eight-yard touchdown reception.
LB Calvin Pace established a career-high when he registered his ninth sack of the season after he took down Panthers QB Cam Newton for a six-yard loss in the first quarter.
DT Sheldon Richardson took back-to-back goal line carries in the third quarter, the first two of his career, and scored his first-career touchdown on a one-yard plunge into the end zone.
LB Quinton Coples recorded his fourth sack of the season when he brought down QB Cam Newton for a six-yard loss late in the second quarter. His hit on Newton on a fourth-and-two play in the third quarter at the Jets 14-yard line caused an incompletion that ended the Panthers drive.
K Nick Folk kicked a season-long 54-yard field goal to end the first quarter. The 54-yarder is tied for the second-longest field goal of his career and made him a perfect three-for-three on attempts beyond 50 yards this season. He later connected on a 33-yard field goal to tie the game at six, making him a perfect nine-for-nine on field goals from 30-39 yards on the season.
