Jets screw Washington

The fantasy football continues. The Jets claimed two more players on waivers. The announcement was made by Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger.

“The Jets claimed defensive lineman Marcus Dixon (Dallas) and offensive tackle Patrick Brown (Minnesota) and have cut receiver David Clowney, according to multiple people with direct knowledge of the moves made,” wrote Vrentas. “They also intend to waive running back Chauncey Washington, according to his agent, Paul Lawrence.”

Now you can pencil the Jets into the Super Bowl.

There is nothing else Washington could have done to make the team. He played his butt off at running back and on special teams. He played with tremendous heart. The fumble he had against the Carolina Panthers was the fault of the Jets coaches. The play before he ran 50-60 yards throwing two outstanding blocks (at the beginning of the play and at the end) on a long punt return by Joe McKnight. He was gassed. They should never handed him the ball on the next play. That was foolish.

We will let you know when the fantasy football draft ends.

Memo to the Jets personnel department – you are dealing with human beings. This isn’t a board game.
