Jim Leonhard talks to mainstream media

Florham Park – Jim Leonhard is progressingly nicely from his broken leg.

“It feels really good right now,” Leonhard said. “It’s a 3-4 month process. There are many variables (that could change the timetable).  They took the splint off after two weeks. It was similar to Leon, but not as bad.

“It happened in a 7-on-7 drill (in practice). I was making a play on the ball. I don’t blame Patrick Turner. Taking a knee to the shin happens all the time in football.”

Early on, Leonhard said he was in a lot of pain, but physically and emotionally.

“The first couple of weeks are tough – you feel sorry for yourself,” Leonhard said.
