Lansanah bounced and Campbell continues amazing run

The Jets released linebacker Danny Lansanah and signed quarterback Brady Quinn to the active roster.

The Jets need Quinn because backup quarterback Mark Sanchez has a slightly torn labrum in his right shoulder (the announcement was made by Jay Glazer and Chris Mortensen), and Matt Simms is very green.

The Jets cut Lansanah, but kept rookie guard Will Campbell on the active roster (they have two other backup guards).

Campbell’s story is pretty amazing. He was a college defensive tackle, who the Jets drafted in April, and moved to guard, and just four months later, he made the ACTIVE ROSTER. That is quite an accomplishment.
