East Rutherford – This beat has become very QB-centric, and sometimes we lose sight of other matters.
I know it was the fourth preseason game, so we shouldn’t go overboard with praise, but a few guys deserve kudos for their performances at “The Met” tonight.
*LB Nick Bellore led the Jets with eight tackles. I think he has starting potential in the future. He has a nose for the ball.
*S Jaiquawn Jarrett had six tackles, and just as important a PD. We know he’s a big hitter, but he needs to show more in coverage, so that PD was important.
*S Antonio Allen had four tackles, a PD, and a Pick Six. It looks like he locked up a starting job.
*LB Ricky Sapp flashed against his old team with three tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and PD.
*RB Kahlil Bell rushed 21 times for 80 yards and scored two touchdowns in a game for the second time this summer. He’s an underrated back who can help the Jets this year.
