Not a big deal if it’s a collective QB decision, if . . .

. . . it’s made strictly by football people, and not anyone on the business side.

If ticket sales are lagging, the people on the business-side need to resist the temptation to push the football-side to start Geno Smith.

But as long as it’s football people like John Idzik, Rex Ryan, Marty Mornhinweg and David Lee collectively making the decision, the group-think approach is fine.

Ira and company need to stay out of it.

No matter what is going on at the gate.

Because even if you start Geno to sell some tickets, and he struggles, the bump at the box office will fade pretty quickly.
