Rex on Mark’s shoulder Dan Leberfeld
Florham Park – Rex Ryan spoke extensively on Friday about the condition of Mark Sanchez’s throwing shoulder.
“The trainers said this is where they expected him,” Ryan said. “We said all along that we expected him to play. The trainers really felt good about Mark today. We think he’s going to be right around 100 percent for the game.
“He’s throwing the ball well. I guess there’s a chance if he gets hit in a certain way, like any other quarterback in the league, that he can get injured more, but we don’t think this is an injury that’s going to get worse. Obviously, it could get worse if you take a hit, but that’s any quarterback in this league.
“Today, he was zipping it. He sent a message to all of us, mainly me, that’s he’s ready to go.”
