For the first time, Rex Ryan commented on the hiring of Marty Mornhinweg as the Jets’ offensive coordinator.
“I thought it was important to get a guy with a proven track record as a quarterback developer, a proven track record statistically, a guy who has been there and done it, a proven track record of a play caller and we got all of those with Marty,” Ryan said on Thursday.
“I brought in several candidates, a lot of great coaches, but for us, I thought Marty was the guy that I thought was the best fit for us. I can’t wait to get out there and see how our offense looks. Will it look different? Yes, it will.”
