Q)Do designed rollout plays help Mark Sanchez get into a rhythm?
Ryan: I like moving the quarterback some, especially against good teams that can rush the passer. You look at Kansas City, you look at Philly who we’re coming up on, and sometimes it’s dangerous in that pocket. You work your run game, your play-action, and also some movement fakes.
Q)What is your philsophy on how to split carries between Shonn and LaDainian this year?
Ryan: I think we’ve got two great backs. We want to get them both involved. Shonn had 24 carries, LT had nine carries (against Kansas City). If you have two really good backs, you’re going to use them both.
Q)What are your thoughts on the Jets performance the last three games?
Ryan: We just have to keep focusing on our next opponent. That’s what we’ve done. We don’t worry about the rest of the league. We just have to take care of ourselves. If we don’t take care of ourselves, it’s not going to matter what the rest of the league does, so we have to take care of our business.
