Saleh comments on Reps-Gate Dan Leberfeld

Some have made a big deal about this player’s lack of reps with the starters in training camp.

Talking about wide receiver Denzel Mims.

And Robert Saleh politely fired back today on this hot-button issue.

“He’s been running with the ones here and there,” said Saleh. “These guys are on rotation. Like I said, what you guys are recognizing, and the narrative is, they’re all in the same boat. The only [guys] who run with the ones unconditionally, you got Corey Davis, and I want to say Keelan (Cole), and Jamison (Crowder). Otherwise, everyone is rotating in, everyone is getting their reps.”

These kind of rotations are going on at most position.

“Same thing as running back, same thing at d-line, linebackers, safeties, corners, all of it,” Saleh said. “Yeah, I felt like [Mims] had a really nice practice today, we’ll go back and see the tape. He’s working his tail off and the harder he works the more he puts in, the more opportunities he’s going to get. He’s part of the rotation.”

And there is a good chance Mims isn’t going to start, with Davis, Cole and Crowder on the team, along with jack-of-all-trades, Elijah Moore.

But Mims will have a role.

Saleh is perhaps getting a little tired of being asked about Mims’ reps. When Mims ran some with the ones today, Saleh anticipated a question about it.

“I was looking out there and I saw him running with the ones and I’m like, ‘You know, the media is going to ask about whether or not he’s with the ones,'” Saleh said.
