You can talk about their need for receivers until the cows come home, but if they don’t address these other two needs, they’re going to have problems.
There’s so much talk about the Jets’ needing receivers, and that’s fine, but these two other needs are just as big.
Talking about edge-rusher and #1 CB.
They MUST get a big-time pass rusher with great short-area quickness, flexibility and a tremendous closing burst, who can wreck a game. The Jets, through many different regimes, have kicked the can on this need for far too long.
They also need a lock-down #1 CB. Pierre Desir is a solid #2 CB.
Not having an elite edge-rusher or shutdown corner has hurt the Jets a great deal in recent years.
And Joe Douglas needs to be just as focused on these needs as receiver (and offensive line).
