There was no malicious intent

Mark Sanchez was put on injured reserve this week after shoulder surgery.

He injured his right shoulder in the Jets’ third preseason game, when he was hit by former New York Giants defensive tackle Marvin Austin.

Sanchez suffered a torn labrum.

Jets GM John Idzik and coach Rex Ryan have been criticized for having Sanchez in that game in the fourth quarterback, behind a backup offensive line.

Was it a good idea for Sanchez to be in the game behind a backup line?

Probably not.

But I don’t think Idzik and Ryan had malicious intent.

It was just a poor decision.
