This should be a non-issue for potential candidates

If the Jets decide to make a GM change, could their current QB situation be a problem?

One candidate, who probably shouldn’t be a candidate because he’s already leaking stuff, told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport he “has expressed some nervousness” about Geno Smith being the quarterback.

That is ridiculous.

If the Jets make a change, do you really think that team’s brass is going to force Smith on the new GM?

That isn’t going to happen.

Surely the new GM will let Smith compete, but no candidate should be nervous about the job because of this quarterback. He’s will be in the third year of a second round salary. Smith doesn’t make a lot of money. This isn’t Sam Bradford who made $50 guaranteed under the old CBA.
