Top offensive play from Jets-Lions game

Cortland – What was the top offensive play from the Jets-Detroit preseason game?

Mark Sanchez threw a pretty 26-yard touchdown strike to TE Jeff Cumberland down the right seam late in the first quarter.

This was a nice pass, but we need to keep in mind, the Jets benefited a great deal by a blown coverage on the play by LB Travis Lewis, who left Cumberland wide open.

You could make a strong argument that Greg McElroy had the play of the day in the third quarter. About to get sacked by Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, he somehow spun away from the defensive tackle, stepped up, and hit WR Zach Rogers on a crossing route, and the receiver took the pass in for a nine-yard score. This was quite a play by McElroy, who is competing with Matt Simms for the Jets #3 job.
