Will Brady be himself?

Florham Park – Tom Brady missed New England Patriots practices on Wednesday and Thursday.

The legendary Patriots’ quarterback. a perfectionist and gym-rat, hates to miss practices.

So clearly his knee injury is a problem.

He returned to practice on Friday and will play on Sunday, but he’s clearly not 100 percent.

And keep in mind he’s not the most mobile quarterback to start with, so having a knee issue is far from ideal for the Patriots’ signal-caller.

It’s also far from ideal for the Patriots to play without all-world tight end Rob Gronkowski. ESPN’s Dianna Russini announced early this week that Gronkowski isn’t likely to play against the Jets due to a lung issue.

Not having Gronkowski certainly changes the landscape for New England on offense, and makes them a little easier to deal with (not a lot, but a little).

With Brady hobbling and Gronkowski likely out, the Jets certainly have a better chance of making this a game.

The key will be getting a good interior pass rush from guys like Leonard Williams, Sheldon Richardson and Mo Wilkerson and getting Brady “off his spot,” as they say.
