Will missing so much off-season hurt learning curve?

Will it hurt new Jets’ safety LaRon Landry missing so many OTA practices?

“It is a voluntary thing,” Rex Ryan said.  “Do I think he’s going to struggle picking up our defense when training camp rolls around if he’s healthy enough to get out there and strong enough to play? No, I don’t.  But he’s got a playbook and all that kind of stuff.  Guys learn differently. ”

This is a new system for Landry, so not being round for most of his first off-season, can’t help the learning process.

But, first-and-foremost, he has to get his problematic Achilles healthy, and that is what he’s working on right now.

The best case scenario would be for him to rehab at the team facility, so he can also learn the system, while attempting to get healthy.
