No excuses – next man up!

There’s so much talk about this early in camp, and it needs to stop.

The Jets have had a lot of injuries at wide receiver, and some people are making a big deal about it.

Not me.

Next man up.

In the NFL, you can’t use injuries as an excuse, because all teams have them. A lot of teams around the league have long injury lists right now.

And watching the Jets practice today, and seeing slot receiver Jamison Crowder (pictured above on our new cover) still out there, and newly-signed Chris Hogan making a lot of plays, along with tight end Chris Herndon, what’s the problem? All they would have to do if the season started today, is find a third receiver, and Jeff Smith and Josh Malone have looked good this summer.

Breshad Perriman should be back by next week.

Also, let’s not forget, this passing offense will feature a heavy dose of Herndon and RB Le’Veon Bell. So when you think about the Jets’ passing attack, you need to look past the WR room.

So what’s the big deal I hear about all the receiver injuries?

And even if it’s a big deal, nobody should use that as an excuse. Good football cultures, which the Jets are attempting to build, don’t use injuries as an excuse – ever.

Next man up!
