Youth football grants available through Jets

Youth leagues, middle schools and high schools eligible for more than $1 million in equipment grants

The New York Jets, in association with USA Football are providing youth, middle school and high school football programs the opportunity to apply for football equipment grants through May 31.

Based on need, merit and a program’s commitment to coaching education and best practices, USA Football will award more than $1 million in grants this summer.

Recipient programs redeem USA Football grant funds through Riddell, the official helmet and protective equipment partner of USA Football. Grants range from $500 to $1,500 for youth organizations and from $1,000 to $2,500 for high school programs, offering new equipment, uniforms, equipment reconditioning and flag football equipment to advance the fun and benefits of the sport.

USA Football’s grant program has delivered the following since 2006:

Awarded more than $7 million in equipment grants to school-based and youth football programs
Benefitted more than 200,000 youth and high school football players in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
Assisted more than 5,500 youth and high school football programs in all 50 states

Youth leagues that are 501(c)(3) compliant and schools may submit applications by 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 31, at http://www2.usafootball.com/grants. Applications must be submitted online.

USA Football’s equipment grant program is made possible through the NFL Foundation and is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams. USA Football trains more high school and youth coaches combined than any organization in the United States.

The NFL Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and safety of sports, youth football and communities. The NFL Foundation represents all 32 NFL teams.

The New York Jets, with the assistance of the NFL Foundation, are dedicated to promoting the game of football in communities via our youth football programs.

Provide youth football leagues with new equipment to assure children have the chance to play football
Partner with New York City Department of Education providing more than 6,000 students with an opportunity to learn the skills and techniques with NFL Flag Football
Annually donate $150,000 to the Public Schools Athletic Leagues (PSAL) football programs for new and developmental football teams, reconditioning every helmet, providing two college scholarships at $5,000
