A big thing Zach Wilson must do to take next step Dan Leberfeld
This number needs to go up for Zach Wilson moving forward . . .
In 13 starts last year as a rookie, the quarterback completed 55.6 percent of his passes.
That number means too many balls are hitting the ground. It’s hard to sustain drives with that number.
So Wilson needs to get that number above 60 percent this year to help him take the next step as a QB.
“One of the biggest focuses was the eyes, getting your eyes in the right spot at the right time,” said Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. “That is a focus that we are going to continue through these last OTAs obviously and then throughout training camp to make sure that we are ready to roll in September.”
It’s essential Wilson’s completion percentage goes up this season.
So many of the top NFL quarterbacks tend to be in that 65 percent range.
