Getting after it

The Jets ran a screen of some kind on the right side to Braxton Berrios, and the most impressive part of the play, might not have been the throw or the catch, but the block thrown by wide receiver Corey Davis.

The pass was in the right flat and Davis opened a big hole with a great block on cornerback Sauce Gardner.

Davis really got after Gardner on this play with a tenacious, clean block.

It was a perfect example of how important receivers can be as blockers on screens and obviously in the running game as well.

It was also a good lesson for Gardner on dealing with the blocking of NFL receivers, which is often a step up from the college game.

After the play, Gardner went over to Davis and gave him a low five for his effort and to show him there were no hard feelings.

The bottom line is Davis is a very good blocking receiver.
