Another player goes down with same injury as Jermaine in same stadium

On Sunday, in their overtime win over New England, the Tennessee Titans lost their starting center, Lloyd Cushenberry, to a torn Achilles.

This was on the same field in Nashville where Jets defensive end Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles in Week 2, in a Jets win over the Titans.

From 1999 to 2022, they had a grass field at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.

In 2023 they installed artificial turf.

Nashville has a lot of major concerts in Nissan Stadium, which can chew up the real grass, so they switched to the fake grass.

Perhaps there is no way to prove it scientifically, but the artificial turf might have contributed to Johnson’s injury since it was non-contact.

And now another player goes down with the same injury on the same field.

Hey, maybe these two injuries could have happened on grass as well, who knows?
