Cannon’s scrimmage – some perspective Dan Leberfeld
Jets rookie running back Trenton Cannon flashed during the Jets’ scrimmage on Saturday night, but what does that truly mean?
There were reports that he ran 10 times for 50 yards. Perhaps, but running back stats in practices with no tackling are above my paygrade. I don’t know how that works.
But while Cannon flashed top-shelf speed, quickness and cutting ability at High Point Solutions Stadium, since there was no tackling, you need to take what he did with a grain of salt.
So let’s wait to see what Cannon does in preseason games, with defenders trying to tackle him, before we canonize him.
