Cortland – Jets backup center Dalton Freeman has a high ankle sprain. The announcement was made by Brian Costello of the New York Post.
I mistakenly reported he hurt his knee. I apologize for the incorrect information.
Freeman was seen in a walking boot at the scrimmage.
High ankle sprains are generally a 4-6 week injury, so the Jets are going to have a tough decision to make on this player at the final cut down.
You get the sense they want to keep him around, so IR is an option if the ankle isn’t much improved by the cut to 53.
Remember, they can also put him on short-term IR.
