The broadcast team of Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf will be calling the Jets-Titans on Sunday for CBS.
What does Dierdorf think of Geno Smith so far?
“Like all rookie quarterbacks, Geno Smith is going to be a work-in-progress,” Dierdorf said. “If the Jets can get back to the formula of running the football, which is what I think they’re trying to do, and protect Geno Smith, then they have a chance (this season).
“Geno Smith is not ready to have to throw the ball 35-40 times a game and carry the team on his shoulders like that. That’s just the way it is with rookie quarterbacks.”
