Does paying college players help scouting process?

Now that many college players are getting paid thanks to NIL, does that help scouts figure out how prospects will deal with the spoils of big money?

“If you look at players that you miss on, there’s always plenty to choose from of guys that I have missed on over the years and try and self-scout,” said NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. “When you talk to teams and get information on maybe why it didn’t work out, two things happen a lot. They don’t know how to handle adversity, and then the other thing is sometimes they don’t know how to handle money, fame, all that kind of stuff that goes along with it, all the distractions that money can bring.

“So now you’re getting a chance to see them in that situation basically be a professional before they even get to you and see how they handle themselves. I think that can be a plus.”
