The New York Post ran a quote from a senior Jets official saying, “We have no choice. We have to ride this thing out with Geno.”
That quote is a little bizarre.
Of course it’s their prerogative to “ride this thing out with Geno.”
They can use this year to develop him. That is their right.
But to say, “we have no choice,” isn’t steeped in reality.
They have a backup who has been to four Pro Bowls and has thrown 128 career touchdowns.
They have a choice.
So it’s hard to understand where the “senior Jets official” is coming from.
