The Jets are about to hire Karl Dunbar as their defensive line coach. The announcement was made by Manish Mehta, who has broken a number a stories involving the Jets coaching staff in recent weeks.
“The Daily News has learned that the Jets have offered Karl Dunbar their defensive line coach position,” wrote Mehta. “Barring an eleventh-hour change of heart, it is believed that Dunbar, who spent six seasons as the defensive line coach for the Vikings before he was fired earlier this month, will join Rex Ryan’s staff. The Jets targeted Dunbar shortly after he and the Vikings parted ways, bringing him to the team facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, for an interview two weeks ago.”
